Stun guns confiscated at BWI

WASHINGTON – Security officials confiscated two stun guns from passengers at Baltimore-Washington International Airport last week.

The Transportation Security Administration says officers found a pink stun gun Sept. 17 and a black stun gun Sept. 20.

The second stun gun was found in a woman’s carry-on baggage as it travelled through the X-ray machine at the security checkpoint.

The Georgia woman was cited on Maryland weapons charges and allowed to catch her flight to Atlanta.

Passengers are not permitted to bring stun guns or other weapons with them on the plane. They can however stow them in their checked baggage.

The TSA recommends that travelers check their carry-on bags for prohibited items before entering the security checkpoints. To find a complete list of what is allowed visit www.tsa.gov.
