A Bethesda Row staple will reopen on Tuesday with foosball tables, stools made with Vespa scooter seats and a completely remade look.

Jaleo, the tapas restaurant from Bethesda resident and acclaimed chef Jose Andres, went through a weeklong renovation at 7271 Woodmont Ave.

The 12-year-old restaurant was one of the first in Bethesda Row and is certainly one of the longest tenured. The remodel follows the a similar effort in Jaleo’s D.C. location last year.

Every change was made with Spain in mind. There are new wall coverings, tables (including the pair of operation foosball tables that will be used for diners) chairs, light fixtures and art.

A mural on the back wall from Barcelona artist Rafael Vargas depicts animals, fruits and other symbols of Spain. The chairs were manufactured by Spanish companies. The lights are from Spanish design Arturo Alvarez. The entire design was pulled together by Andres and Spanish designer Juli Capella.
