Artists from near and far return to Alexandria

WASHINGTON – For one weekend, Alexandria’s Old Town is transformed into a huge, living art galley.

The 11th annual Alexandria King Street Art Festival features a variety of art from more than 200 artists around the world.

One artist from North Carolina says she’s returned to the festival for her fifth year.

“It’s always a great one,” she says. “People come out in all kinds of weather, and they bring their dogs and their kids and they buy art. It’s fun.”

The festivals runs from King Street to Washington Street for six blocks in Old Town. It’s open Saturday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 8 until 5 p.m.
