Va. pipe-bomb investigation uncovers 2nd device

WASHINGTON – Loudoun County authorities investigating a pipe-bomb explosion in Leesburg discovered a second explosive device on Saturday.

The explosion on Tuesday night sent a loud bang through the River Creek community, and the exploded bomb was found on the River Creek golf course.

On Saturday morning, officials from the fire marshal’s and sheriff’s offices were searching a Sandpiper Place home when they found the second device.

The device was disabled shortly after noon, the marshal’s office says, and no one was arrested. The investigation is continuing.
