D.C. school volunteer faces child pornography charge

WASHINGTON – A school volunteer at the San Miguel Middle School, a charter school in Northwest D.C. is charged with possession of child pornography.

Cristian Gutierrez was taken into custody at his Otis Place NW apartment Friday night.

During a three-month investigation, a federal agent discovered Gutierrez had downloaded dozens of videos of young boys engaged in sexual activity.

A search of Gutierrez’s apartment revealed he’d allegedly downloaded 2,000 videos on his laptop computer.

ABC7 reports Gutierrez initially denied wrongdoing, but eventually admitted downloading the videos.

San Miguel Middle School, an all-male school for at-risk Latino children, was in the news in 2009 when singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony visited.
