Dog-washing drive benefits veterans’ groups

WASHINGTON – Dog daycare franchise Dogtopia has declared Sunday National Wash Your Dog Day, and they’re doing it for a good cause.

The daycare business is holding its ninth annual Charity Dog Wash, and for $15 you can get a clean dog and a good feeling — proceeds will go to the organizations America’s VetDogs and Veterans Moving Forward, who train service dogs to assist veterans with physical and mental health challenges.

There are Dogtopia franchises in Manassas, Woodbridge, Alexandria, Dulles, Herndon, McLean and North Bethesda.

Dogtopia is also accepting donations at www.dogtopia.com or by texting “DOGTOPIA” to 50155.
