Man struck and killed by train in Montgomery County

WASHINGTON — A man was struck and killed by a CSX train early Friday morning and the investigation caused delays for MARC’s Brunswick Line during the early commute.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue say a man was hit on MARC’s Brunswick Line, near the Germantown station located at 19330 Mateny Hill Road, at about 1:40 a.m. The man died from his injuries at the scene.

Detectives are working to establish the victim’s identity.

The Brunswick Line trains are back up and running as of 7 a.m. after a one-hour delay due to the police investigation. Trains are still running late.

Metro will honor tickets.
