Woman killed in Silver Spring apartment complex

WASHINGTON – A woman was killed at an apartment complex in Silver Spring, Md., Friday morning in what Montgomery County police are calling a homicide.

Capt. Jim Daly says police were called at about 8 a.m. to The Chateau apartments from a co-worker of the woman who hadn’t seen her at work in several days. When they got there, they found the woman dead; her body had suffered trauma.

A man was taken in for questioning at the scene, but hasn’t been charged with a crime. Police say the two people knew each other. Daly called it “a suspicious death that we are investigating as a homicide.”

This is the fourth homicide in Montgomery County this year. Police are continuing to investigate.
