Glover Park strip club allowed to reopen

WASHINGTON – The District’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board says a strip club can open its doors in the Glover Park neighborhood again — if it tones down its plans.

The Washington Post reports JP’s — a club gutted by a fire five years ago — could open as early as Friday after city officials ruled it must limit nude dancing to two stages.

The club had wanted dancing permitted on tables and in private alcoves.

A JP’s representative said other clubs in the city have tabletop dancing and similar VIP areas, the Post reports. A separate hearing on permitting such dancing at the club may be held in the future.
