WASHINGTON – A Virginia state delegate has been called to testify as part of a federal probe connected to Gov. Bob McDonnell.

The Washington Post reports Delegate David Ramadan, R-Loudoun, has been called to appear next month before a federal grand jury.

Ramadan tells the Post the subpoena doesn’t allow him to discuss its details, but he confirmed he’s been asked to testify next month for information apparently related to McDonnell and his wife, Maureen.

The FBI is investigating ties between McDonnell, his wife and the head of a company who paid for catering at the couple’s daughter’s wedding. The Richmond commonwealth’s attorney also is looking into McDonnell’s statements of economic interest.

Ramadan was a guest at the wedding and is a friend of McDonnell’s, the Post reports.
