Teen girl hit by passenger van in Savage, Md.

WASHINGTON – Howard County police say the girl is now being treated at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

She remains in critical condition.

WASHINGTON – A 13-year-old Howard County girl was hit by a 14-passenger van Tuesday, while she was crossing the street in Savage, Md.

Howard County police say multiple witnesses called to report the girl had been hit by the van, owned by La Petite Academy as she was crossing the intersection of Vollmerhausen Road and Castleford Drive around 3:15 p.m.

The girl was flown to shock trauma and her condition is unknown at this time.

There were five children in the van, ages 6 to 8, when the incident occurred. No one in the van was injured.
