Karaoke gets competitive in the District

WASHINGTON – If you’ve ever climbed on stage to sing karaoke you know it takes courage, maybe some talent, and likely some alcohol.

In the status-driven nation’s capital, a social karaoke league is forming to allow would-be stars the chance to entertain a usually-forgiving audience.

District Karaoke at Policy nightclub on 14th St. NW will begin competition Feb. 8.

Teams will consist of up to eight performers, and sing three songs an evening.
