Techie surprises parents by paying off their mortgage

WASHINGTON — The holidays came with a rush of tears and happiness for this couple, as their son — a successful tech entrepreneur — gave mom and dad the gift of a lifetime.

According to a Today show report, Joey Riquelme, founder of the popular video editing app, Videoshop, decided he had made enough money and wanted to spread the wealth — starting with his parents.

With a paper carrying  the simple message, “Your house is paid off. Merry Xmas – Joe,” their lives were transformed — and their response was not surprisingly, wonderful. Riquelme posted it under the name Joey Trombone on You Tube and it’s since gone viral. See the full story:
