Homicide ruled for gunshot victim who crashed into Md. apartment

WASHINGTON — The death of a woman who suffered a gunshot wound before crashing into an apartment building in District Heights, Maryland, has been ruled a homicide, NBC Washington reports.

Prince George’s County police say Marquita Cherie Shalane Wimms, 32, of Temple Hills, died at the scene.

The car she drove crashed into a three-story complex in the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

The apartment building was damaged by the force of the impact and had to be evacuated.

Police are still searching for suspects.
