Man killed in Capitol Heights shooting identified

WASHINGTON — Police have identified the man killed in Capitol Heights, Maryland Wednesday night as 48-year-old Cofield Richardson Jr. of Capitol Heights. A $25,000 reward for information is being offered for information. “Detectives do not believe this was a random act,” a news release says. Officers were called to the 1400 block of Elkwood Lane, near Addison Road, around 8 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a reported shooting. There, officers found Richardson. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
