Maryland breweries will soon sell beer on site

Pretty soon you’ll be able to do more than just sample beer at Maryland’s breweries, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

The General Assembly in its final days approved legislation — House Bill 4 crossfiled with Senate Bill 32 — that allows on-site consumption at breweries starting July 1.

That means customers who come for tours can have purchase pints of beer to drink there or take home growlers, instead of only tasting small samples.

Gov. Martin O’Malley must still sign the bill into law.
