Congressman in hot water after ‘rude’ exchange with park police

WASHINGTON – A Texas Republican is in hot water over a parking ticket near the Lincoln Memorial, Politico reports.

Congressman Louie Gohmert was cited March 13 for parking in a spot reserved for National Park Service vehicles.

Politico reports he took the ticket off his windshield and placed it on a police car, along with his business card with a written message: “Oversight of Park Service is my job!”

U.S. Park Police tell Politico the congressman was “rude, irate and ranting.”
