WASHINGTON — While time is running out to get your Christmas shopping done, you can still get one or two pieces to finish your list.

So, what are D.C.-area residents still looking for?

“Electronics,” Xavier Alire said at Tyson’s Corner Center.  “Televisions, flat screen TVs.  Things like that.”

Others say they’re shopping for things like purses or stocking stuffers.  As many people rush to get their gifts, shoppers at Tyson’s Corner Center said the best time to get some last-minute shopping done is in the morning.

“We came early, and parking and traffic was fine,” said Ann Gallahan.  She did most of her shopping online, but still likes to window-shop, just in case something else comes to mind.

Latoya Mayo was shopping for her mom. She says, “I love holiday shopping,” likes “all the people running around looking for things” and did most of her shopping on Black Friday.

With Christmas quickly approaching, the stress of the season is likely to build up, making the search for that perfect gift even more difficult.

Yet for Linda Boulahi — from Algeria — the Christmas season is not about the perfect gift.

“We say in my culture, ‘a stone becomes an apple if it comes from a friend,'” Boulahi she says. “So it doesn’t matter what you get; it’s the intention.”

Boulahi said she was buying everyone on her list gift cards, since most people just return or exchange their gifts anyway.
