Plan a getaway to area snowy ski resorts

WASHINGTON – The D.C. area may have missed the year’s big blizzard, but residents can still play in the snow this Presidents’ Day weekend. Most ski trails are currently open at the area’s local winter resorts.

Liberty Mountain has a snow base of over 20 inches and all of its trails are open. Most of the Wintergreen’s 30-60 inch base mountain trails are open and Wisp Report in western Maryland is open, except for a few trails.

Skiers can check-out the ski condition reports and resort details of some local lodges, as well as a Washingtonian article on some of the best places in the area to ski.
