2 recent fatal shootings in Prince George’s County

WASHINGTON — Two fatal shootings occurred in Prince George’s County Sunday.

A man was fatally shot in the parking lot of Bradbury Recreation Center in Suitland, Maryland around 5:30 p.m.

Maryland National Capital Park Police identified the victim as 21-year-old J.R. Reid Franklin of Temple Hills.

Police say people have been taken into police custody in connection with the fatal shooting.

Another fatal shooting occurred in Riverdale at the 5700 block of 67th Avenue around 5:40 a.m.

Prince George’s County police responded to the scene where they found a man inside of a car suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, police say. Detectives are offering a $25,000 reward for any information that can lead to an arrest and conviction.
