WASHINGTON – A teenager is in critical condition after being hit by a taxi Thursday night in Temple Hills, Md.

The boy was crossing Wheeler Road at the time.

The driver fled the scene, but police found him at the nearby Southern Avenue Metro station.

Prince George’s County Cpl. Larry Johnson tells Channel 7 the driver is now in custody.

“He is fully cooperating,” Johnson says.

The accident remains under investigation.
