Dog from Oscar-winning ‘The Artist’ dies

WASHINGTON — They say all dogs go to heaven, and in this case, we hope so.

Uggie, the adorable Jack Russell Terrier from the movie “The Artist” (2013), has passed away.

He was 13.

TMZ reports Uggie was put to sleep last Friday after battling a prostate tumor.

His owner, Omar von Muller, confirmed the news on Facebook with dozens of photos in tribute.

Uggie was charming comic relief in the silent French musical comedy that took the Academy Awards by storm, winning five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

Movie theaters are starting to reopen. Will anyone go?

For the first time in roughly five months, AMC Theatres will pop the popcorn, dim the lights, and start the show. But will anyone buy a ticket?
