WASHINGTON — She was in one of the cars police say a Silver Spring man hit after carjacking an ambulance last weekend.
Now, a pregnant mother is demanding justice for her friend killed in the accident on Greenbelt Road.
Cheryl Linkins says Alvin Hargrave, 77, was a veteran and a school teacher. He died Sunday while running an errand with Linkins, a family friend.
“I believe we were stopped at a red light,” says Linkins, 26, a patient at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly. “I don’t remember the accident. I just remember getting up and I looked over and just seen Al laid on the steering wheel and the whole backseat was literally to the back of my head.”
Before the accident, however, Linkins says she saw the ambulance trying to ram a tow truck.
Prince George’s County police say Sebastian Isaksen is facing charges after he carjacked an ambulance on the Capital Beltway and slammed into slowly moving cars, including Hargrave’s.
Linkins has fractures in her neck, hip and pelvis. While her unborn baby is OK, Linkins says she wants justice for her friend.
“I want him to suffer,” she said of Isaksen. “It wouldn’t have been fair if he would have died peacefully like Al. I want him to suffer.”
