Gas prices dropping around region

WASHINGTON – Gas prices continue to fall in the D.C. area this week.

WTOP’s Price at the Pump survey shows the average price of a gallon of regular is $3.31, down 4 cents from last week. But Maryland and Virginia drivers should note most of the drop came from D.C., which was down 9 cents. Maryland and Virginia regular prices were about the same.

Mid grade dropped 3 cents to $3.50 and premium is down 2 cents to $3.63. Diesel is also down 3 cents, sitting at $3.94 per gallon.

The average for regular fuel this week is cheapest in the Maryland area, at $3.26, compared to the Virginia average at $3.29, and the District average at $3.39.
