WASHINGTON — A 21-year-old Vienna man has been charged with the murder of his infant child.

Child abuse charges filed against Francis Reed on Monday were upgraded on Tuesday after his 2-month-old daughter, Amber Reed, died, Fairfax County police say.

Police originally responded to a home on Parkwood Court in Falls Church on Saturday where paramedics were trying to revive the baby with CPR.

Police did not detail the nature of the baby’s injuries.

This is the tenth homicide in Fairfax County in 2011. There were 16 in 2010.
