WASHINGTON – A 21-year-old Alexandria man is being charged with involuntary manslaughter for a Christmas Eve accident that took a woman’s life.

Police say Farhan Mohammed Khan ran a red light and hit another vehicle at North Randolf and North Glebe Road.

His car went out of control and killed 30-year-old Shabnam Hotahhar Tehrani of Nokesville, Va. She was on the sidewalk.

If convicted Khan could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
