$3B life sciences campus proposed for White Oak site

Montgomery County will partner with Silver Spring company Percontee Inc. to redevelop roughly 300 acres in White Oak as a mixed-use, life sciences campus next to the Food and Drug Administration headquarters and future Washington Adventist Hospital, county officials announced Friday.

The county-owned, 115-acre “Site 2,” formerly a Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission sludge processing facility, will be combined with a 185-acre former quarry owned by Percontee to create LifeSci Village. The 300 acres is roughly the size of downtown Silver Spring.
