Two men killed in unrelated shootings

WASHINGTON – D.C. police are investigating two unrelated shootings that killed two men Saturday morning.

The first shooting happened around 4 a.m. at a gas station on the 4500 block of Benning Road NE. Police say they arrived to find 24-year-old Stephon Emmanuel Way of Upper Marlboro, Md. and 16-year-old girl from D.C. suffering from gunshot wounds.

Way died of his injuries at a local hospital. The girl was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police believe an argument between Way and a suspect may have been what started the shooting.

Police are looking for a black man in his mid 20s with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a red coat, blue pants and a red shirt. He was seen driving a silver car, possibly a Ford.

The second shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. In the 2300 block of Ainger Place SE. An adult male was killed in that shooting.

Anybody with information about either of these shooting are asked to call D.C. Police (202) 727-9099.
