Community searches for lost dog in Md.

WASHINGTON – It’s a full-court press to try and find Madeline, a missing dog.

The elusive pet bolted on Monday, Dec. 3, from her dog walker in Rockville near Montgomery College. It’s been almost a month since Madeline’s been gone, but her owners are not giving up hope, even as the cold winter weather kicks in to stay.

“So Madeline is about 45 pounds, about 22 inches high and about five years old,” says Judy Wight, the dog’s owner.

Wight says the dog is a reddish-brown coonhound mix. A call went out on Facebook for volunteers to help – and they came.

“We’re asking people to go to the areas where she’s been seen and hand out flyers,” Wight says.

Madeline is very scared of humans. Wight says if people see her, they should not yell at her or chase her. Instead, Wight asks that they call (301) 728-2771 with the location where they saw her.
