WASHINGTON — Seven D.C. men with gang ties have been charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office with three murders and seven non-fatal shootings since 2006.
The G-ROD gang, which occupies parts of Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan and the U Street corridor, has also been linked to various weapons and drug-related crimes in the area.
D.C. Councilmember Jim Graham, who represents the neighborhoods where the gang operates, called them the most dangerous gang in the city, even willing to kill a young man leaving a funeral.
The suspects range in age from 19 to 24 and all live in the District. Five are currently in police custody and officials are still searching for the other two, Marcellus Jackson and Keir Johnson.
