Person struck by Metro train

WASHINGTON – Metro trains on the Orange line stopped single-tracking through Falls Church at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, after a person was struck by a train outside of West Falls Church at around 6. Metro says that about 200 passengers on the train had to be evacuated; they were sent back to the platform at East Falls Church, walking about 120 feet back on the tracks. They add that there are still residual delays in both directions, and that passengers who use Vienna, Dunn Loring and West Falls Church should consider riding the Silver Line.
