WASHINGTON — This guy’s bags were obviously packed, pre-flight. Zero hour was 9 a.m.
High as a kite? Way higher.
A Swiss pilot recently joined the formation of the Breitling demonstration team, but unlike his wingmen, he wasn’t restricted to the usual Aeor Vodochody L-39C figher jets.
All Yves “Jetman” Rossy needs is his jet suit.
The stuntman had to push his custom-made carbon-fiber rig to its limits for this performance to keep up with the jets, which, in turn, operated at their lowest speeds, according to a Wired.com report.
Rossy has developed a high flying reputation with similar jaunts over the English Channel and the Grand Canyon. He first launched this rig in 2006, and flies airliners as a day job.
