Montgomery College student in custody after threats

WASHINGTON – A man who made threats indicating he wanted to hurt other students at Montgomery College is in police custody.

Witnesses say the man was upset over a relationship and told them he “felt like shooting people just for fun.”

Montgomery College officials say the Rockville campus was not placed on lockdown.

The witnesses who alerted campus police of the threats, said they didn’t see any weapons, and that the man was not known to carry weapons.

Officials say the 19-year-old is a student and has been taken into custody for questioning.

No charges have been filed.
