Annapolis man injured in early morning shooting

WASHINGTON – An Annapolis man was in serious condition after he was shot outside an apartment building in Annapolis early Saturday morning.

Police were called to Bens Drive just after 1:30 a.m. and found 26-year-old William Saunders, who had been shot in the torso, Annapolis police say.

Saunders was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma by helicopter, where he remained in serious condition Saturday afternoon.

This was the second shooting in a week for the neighborhood. A man was shot at the Bay Ridge Shell gas station last Friday. The station is just around the corner from Bens Drive, police say.
