Part of Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda to shut down for construction

WASHINGTON —  A section of Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda will be shut down on Saturday, June 13 for construction.

All southbound lanes of the roadway will be closed between Commerce Drive and Old Georgetown Road so that construction crews can operate a crane at a project at 7415 Wisconsin Ave., near the Bethesda Metro.

The closure will begin at 7 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 14.

During the road closure, southbound Md. Route 355 drivers should follow signs directing traffic along the detour route:

• Right on Commerce Lane

• Right onto MD 187 (Old Georgetown Road)

• Left onto Woodmont Avenue

• Left onto Montgomery Lane to access southbound MD 355

Sidwalks on the southbound side of 355 will also be closed during the crane operation.

The sidewalk along the northbound lanes and the crosswalks in the area will remain open.
