WASHINGTON – On Nov. 6, voters will weigh in on critical issues facing regional states, including the Virginia government’s right to seize private property and the issues of gay marriage, tuition for undocumented immigrants and expanded gambling in Maryland.

Question 5: Congressional Districting Plan
Referendum Petition
This re-establishes the borders of Maryland’s eight congressional districts based on census figures, according to the State Board of Elections.

- Against the Referred Law
“Establishes the boundaries for the State’s eight United States Congressional Districts based on recent census figures, as required by the United States Constitution.”
More Information:
Opponents of the redrawn map, which was approved in a special session late last year by the Democrat-controlled General Assembly, say it has been gerrymandered to favor Democrats. But Democrats who support the map say it reflects demographic changes.
