Powerboat weekend motors into Annapolis

Amy Freedman, wtop.com

WASHINGTON – It’s powerboat weekend in Annapolis as the United States Powerboat Show motors into town Oct. 11-14. The nation’s oldest, largest in-water power boat show follows the sailboat show each year. While not as highly attended as the sailboat show, there will still be thousands of visitors to Annapolis this weekend.

Parking is available at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium parking lot with shuttle service running all day to and from the event at the City Dock of Annapolis. There is also some parking available at Eastport Elementary School. If you park in Eastport, it is a short walk to the downtown area.

Drivers should be aware of potential extra volume on Route 50, especially near the stadium exit for Rowe Boulevard, exit 24. There will also be extra traffic volume in Eastport and certainly anywhere near the City Dock area.
