Pedestrian hit by car in Clarendon

WASHINGTON – A pedestrian was hit by a car and sustained life-threatening injuries just after midnight in Clarendon.

The pedestrian, identified as a 27-year-old man, was near a crosswalk but not in it, according to Dustin Sternbeck, Arlington County police spokesman. The driver stayed at the scene.

ARLnow.com reports the man was transported to George Washington University Hospital. Charges are pending against the driver of the vehicle.
