GSA seeking restaurateurs for HQ building

The federal government’s real estate agents apparently work up quite an appetite.

The General Services Administration is seeking restaurateurs to lease space in its headquarters building at 18th and F streets NW as early as April 2013, according to a notice posted at FedBizOpps.Gov, the government’s online database of opportunities.

According to the notice, posted Sept. 12, the GSA has nearly 9,700 square feet available to one or more interested tenants. The GSA is offering up the space for a five-year lease term with three five-year renewal options, according to FedBizOpps.

First-time restaurateurs aren’t barred from applying, but the GSA’s notice warns that, “Due to the nature and location of this space, we will evaluate Offerors more favorably who have more experience in retail food sales to the public.”
