Ride-On to run modified schedule Monday, Tuesday

WASHINGTON – Montgomery County Ride-On buses will operate on a modified schedule Monday and Tuesday following last week’s bus fire.

The county permanently removed 26 of its 367 buses from its Ride-On system following the fire.

County Executive Isiah “Ike” Leggett says Ride-On is working to find replacement buses, and expects all will be replaced by the end of August.

Ride-On will run a modified holiday schedule, with three exceptions at specific routes.

  • Route 2 will provide service to Walter Reed.
  • Route 38 will provide service to the U.S. Postal Training Academy.
  • Route 54 will provide service to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).

A normal schedule will resume by Wednesday but riders should expect minor delays through the end of the week.
