Best- and worst-paying jobs in the country

WASHINGTON – If you’re interesting in making the big bucks, it might be time to consider going back to school. Professionals in scrubs and lab coats have the highest-paying jobs in the country, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At the bottom is people working in the service industry. Six of the 10 worst-paying jobs include food prep and baristas, reports MSN Money.

Top 5 highest-paying jobs

  • Anesthesiologist: $234,950
  • Surgeon: $231,550
  • OBGYN: $218,610
  • Oral surgeon: $217,380
  • Orthodontist: $204,670

Lowest-paying jobs

  • Fast-food cook: $18,720
  • Food-preparation/ server: $18,790
  • Dishwasher: $18,840
  • Shampooer: $19,130
  • Cafeteria, food concession and coffee shop counter attendant: $19,450
