Two shot and killed on Fourth of July night in D.C.

WASHINGTON – Two people were shot and killed during the Fourth of July night in the District.

WJLA reports three people were injured and one killed by gunshots behind a shopping center on New Hampshire Avenue NW.

The incident occurred at about 8 p.m., and D.C. police spokesperson Gwendolyn Crump tells WJLA two of the victims were under 18 and two were over 18. All were male.

Two other men were shot about 2 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Morton Street NW. One victim was shot in the face and later died, WJLA says.

No suspect information was available.
