Chase adds to chaos in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON  A woman wanted for credit card theft, forgery and other driving offenses led Fairfax County police on a dramatic chase Tuesday morning as police were searching for an escaped prisoner..

Lakisha Tracy, 36, fled when police initiated a traffic stop around 8 a.m., according to a Fairfax County news release. The chase forced the closure of the Fairfax County Parkway for several hours.

It started near Little River Turnpike as a traffic stop. Tracy, driving a silver pickup, led police onto the Capital Beltway and Interstate 9, making several U-turns before police cars surrounded her truck and she crashed on the Fairfax County Parkway. 

Local TV stations broadcast the chase live Tuesday morning.

Three officers sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
