Fairfax Co. school closes because of threat

WASHINGTON — A Fairfax County School is closed Monday after police investigated a bomb threat made through an email. Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia, is closed Monday. It was delayed by two hours earlier in the day.

Fairfax County Police say they completed their search of the school around 9:15 a.m. and did not find a credible threat. The school closed because Fairfax County police had not finished sweeping the school and need more time to investigate. Fairfax County Spokesman John Torre says police and K-9 units searched inside the school. Torre says someone made the threat in an email. Police were called early Monday morning and parents were alerted by 6 a.m., Torre says. It’s not clear who made the threat.
