Utah State player accused of soliciting prostitute

LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Utah State wide receiver Gregory Weichers has been indefinitely suspended from the team on the same day he was cited on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute.

Logan police say the citation issued Tuesday to Weichers on the class B misdemeanor charge stemmed from an Oct. 22 incident.

No further details were released and Logan Police Chief Gary Jensen did not immediately return phone calls Wednesday.

Weichers has played in all nine games for Utah State this season, catching 10 passes for 84 yards. The 20-year-old freshman, a graduate of Bingham High School in South Jordan, had a career-high three receptions for 27 yards in the Aggies’ 35-14 win at Hawaii on Saturday.

His father is former BYU safety Greg Weichers.
