20,000 baby chickens die in Pennsylvania barn fire

LEBANON, Pa. (AP) — Firefighters say about 20,000 baby chickens have died in a central Pennsylvania barn fire.

WHP-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1xX9TxB ) the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and quickly spread through the North Cornwall Township barn, causing it to collapse.

Officials estimated damage at $500,000. They say the chicks were about five weeks old.

No injuries to firefighters were reported.
