Police seek Del. residence hall shooting suspect

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Delaware authorities are searching for whoever shot a Delaware State University student at one of the school’s off-campus residence halls in Dover.

Authorities say the male student was shot Monday afternoon in the parking lot of a 300-bed residence hall north of the main campus. The student, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It’s unclear where the young man was shot and how many times.

The shooting prompted a school lockdown for several hours. It was lifted after campus police said they didn’t believe there was a threat to any other students and that the shooting was an isolated incident.

No arrests have been made. Police have not offered a description of the shooter.
