1 hurt as truck hits jet at Los Angeles airport

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a fuel truck has struck a jetliner at Los Angeles International Airport but the only injury is to the driver and no fuel spilled.

Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says the truck hit the engine of an unoccupied plane at Terminal 4 shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday.

There was no fire or fuel leak, but the truck driver was trapped in the crumpled truck and had to be freed.

Scott says the driver was taken to a hospital but there’s no immediate word on his injuries or condition.
