Billy Graham to mark 96th birthday with evangelistic message

MONTREAT, N.C. (AP) — The Rev. Billy Graham, in a message to be broadcast next week on his 96th birthday, says he’s looking forward to heaven.

The 30-minute program, titled “Heaven: A new message from Billy Graham,” features recent interviews with the evangelist at his North Carolina home.

It also includes archived crusade film from Graham in his prime and dramatic reenactments with personal testimonies from a firefighter who was almost killed and the daughter of a murder victim.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is encouraging Christians to invite friends to watch the broadcast with them on Nov. 7, when Graham will turn 96.

His son, the Rev. Franklin Graham, has said this will be a more quiet birthday than last year’s, when hundreds gathered in in Asheville, North Carolina, to honor the evangelist.
