Brazilian swimmer banned for 2 years for doping

SAO PAULO (AP) — The Brazilian swimming federation says it has suspended Evandro Vinicius Silva for two years for doping.

The federation says the swimmer tested positive for the banned substances methyltestoterone and chlorthalidone in September after finishing third in the 400-meter individual medley in a meet in Brazil.

Silva, who competed in the United States at the University of the Incarnate Word, has appealed the suspension.
